How to fix bad or damaged eyelashes

Hi my Name is Amy and I own one of the Best Sydney Lashes Studio’s.

How to fix bad or damaged eyelashes really comes down to how bad they are and also how damaged they are.

If the client has recently had a bad set done, for example – very heavy and painful lashes, then the quicker that set is removed, the better! and I mean within days.

The longer these bad sets are left on, the more damage they will do. This is because the eyelashes grow at different rates and if 1 lashes is beginning to grow, it is forcefully growing or rather, slowly pulling out another lash.

if this has happened to multiple lashes, you can only imagine the damage that is being done the longer that set is left.

This poorly applied type of set causes great irritation and itchiness and the client will rub and itch their lash line and even pull out the extensions which in most cases pulls out numerous amounts of their own lashes.

Sometimes a client has been getting poorly applied lashes for some time. This may be because they either are not aware that they’re badly applied and think its normal to have irritable lashes or they really like the set they have on.

Sometimes unfortunately some lash technicians will give the client what they want – being oversized long lashes but in order to keep the lashes upright, they’ll place to a couple of lash extensions or to the eyelid.

Let me shed some light on this for you.

The natural lash has to hold up the extension. Not the skin and Not multiple natural lashes. Just the 1 little eyelash!

If the hair can hold that 1 extension – either a single classic lash or a volume fan, then that is an appropriate weight (length and size) for that hair.

Every hair is different. Which means that each lash next to each other will differ in what it can hold for its natural ability. This is why we hand-make our volume fans.

If your client has temporary damaged lashes –  you can see there is a lot of baby hairs growing thru, you can recommend them to wait a month until the hairs have grown through rather than weighing them down with extensions.

If your client has severely damaged lashes and they are too fine to apply 0.05’s on, the client will need a couple of months with daily use of a lash serum until they are in better condition to do an eyelash set on.

At Beautifeyes, we sell Realash and find its ability to produce thicker and more natural eyelashes. We have  more info on Eyelash Extensions health, in particular Aftercare.
